ASD 2021 Virtual Auction

Since 1998 the Academy for Sports Dentistry has held both live and silent auctions in conjunction with the annual Sports Dentistry Symposium, and this year is no different. Revenue from the Auction goes to ASD Projects, Education and Research.

The Academy for Sports Dentistry was founded in 1983 in San Antonio, Texas, as a forum for dentists, physicians, trainers, coaches, dental technicians, and educators interested in exchanging ideas related to Sports Dentistry and the dental needs of athletes at risk to sports' injuries.

Activities include the collection and dissemination of information on dental athletic injuries and the encouragement of research on the prevention of dental injuries to athletes.

One of the Academy's fund raising activities is hosting an annual Silent Auction, this year it will be virtual making it even easier to place a bid! Revenue from the Auction goes to projects such as the Dental Trauma Card or encouraging the "Poster Presentations" that will be displayed at future annual Symposiums. There are so few studies focused on the Dental Protection of our athletes. With further research, we may be able to find that "concussion-reducing mouthguard" or the "performance enhancing" orthotic that will enable them to run faster, lift more, and be safer.
