COVID-19 has severely affected residential and commercial development, along with the real estate markets world wide. Moreover, the face of Brazilian philanthropy is also changing.
We had a discussion with Elie Horn, Founder of Cyrela and Chairman of its Board of Directors, about how these sectors in Brazil have fared and what the prospects are as we move to the other side of the pandemic curve.
Mr. Horn has extensive experience in the real estate sector. Since Cyrela’s founding in 1962, Mr. Horn has pursued his career with integrity, respect, optimism, and dedication. Mr. Horn is also the founder of Instituto Liberta allied with Columbia Global Centers to combat sexual exploitation, among other philanthropic initiatives that he has undertaken with his wife Suzy, being the first Brazilian to be part of the Giving Pledge Initiative.
We were deeply honored to have him as a panelist.
