We are creating spaces for ombuds to build community and support with those with whom you share an aspect of common personal identity.

The aim of this effort is to meet needs consistently raised in feedback that it would be beneficial for IOA to create additional, smaller group opportunities to connect beyond sector networking. While the topics for discussion are ultimately up to each group, for this initial conversation we suggest starting with conversation about working across and within lines of difference as an ombuds and/or within the ombuds community.

We do not expect the first slate of groups to be fully comprehensive because we know that it isn’t possible for us to reflect all identities, as each one of us contains a multitude of identities that we hold dear and make us unique. We do hope it creates a path for more of this in the future, however, and are eager to hear your feedback as we embark on this together.
