Presenter: Mariah Johnson, M.D. Assistant Professor of Dermatology, OHSU.

Indicative Program (subject to change)

8:30 am - 12 noon. Training

Topics:

  • Pre-Test and pre-survey
  • War on Melanoma vision and research design
  • Risk identification and USPSTF screening recommendations
  • ABCDE and Ugly Duckling dectection methods and identifying non-melanoma skin cancers and other lesions
  • Practice of visual identification of melanoma images
  • Full body exams and teaching self exams including use of MoleMapper App
  • Biopsy and pathology
  • Case discussion and patient education


Noon - 1pm Lunch

1pm - 3pm. Optional: AAD SPOTme Skin Cancer Screening at Center for Health Healing FULL


Target Audience:

The information presented is relevant to a broad range of non-dermatologists and primary care providers, including physician assistants, general practitioners, internists and nurse practitioners.


Learning Objectives:

  • Identify high risk patients
  • Apply screening recommendations
  • Diagnose melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer with increased accuracy
  • Educate patients using provided resources
