National History Day
Overview
National History Day is a U.S.-based competition that challenges students to research a broad historical theme and create a project in one of five categories to explore that subject. The theme changes every year. The competition is open to all students from the United States as well as Guam, American Samoa, Puerto Rico, and international schools in China, Korea, and South Asia. Despite its sponsorship by a U.S.-based organization, projects can be about international subjects. Students and teachers of all backgrounds are encouraged to participate. Accommodations are made for participants with specific needs that require support. Individual and group projects are both allowed.
