2023 Kenniebrew Conference
Southern Illinois University School of Medicine has made a significant, ongoing commitment to becoming an anti-racist institution. For many years, our school has celebrated the life and legacy of Dr. Alonzo Kenniebrew during Black History Month with an award in his honor, a dinner, a speaker, and a community discussion the following day. This year we are expanding the event to include the first annual Kenniebrew conference, dedicated to centering and advancing equity and justice work in medical education and in our communities. This one-day, in-person conference is an excellent opportunity for physicians, resident physicians, medical students, and medical educators interested in presenting in a supportive environment at a regional conference. The conference is provided by SIU School of Medicine - Office of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, HSHS and Memorial Health.
General information
This conference will be held in the MG Nelson Family Auditorium at the Memorial Learning Center, 228 West Miller Street, Springfield, Illinois. For general information regarding the course, please email ocpd@siumed.edu or call 217-545-7711.
Registration
Please complete the registration form and return it with the appropriate fee. Registration the day of the conference begins at 7:45 am, and the conference convenes at 8:30 am. Registration fee includes meals, breaks and conference materials.
Cancelation policy
Registration fees are refundable, less a $35 processing fee, if requested prior to February 10. After February 10, only substitutions are allowed. (Advance notice of substitute attendee is appreciated.)

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Memorial Health, and Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS).The Southern Illinois University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Credit designation statement
The SIU School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP).
Determination of credit is pending.
American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME. Physician assistants may receive a maximum of 7.25 AAP Category 1 CME credits for completing this program.
American Academy of Nurse Practitioners National Certification Board (AANPCB) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME as an equivalent number of hours of participation.
SIU School of Medicine is preapproved as a continuing nursing education provider pursuant to Section 1300.130, subsection c), 1), B) and P) of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation Nurse Practice Act. Nurses may receive a maximum of 7.25 contact hours for completing this activity.
SIU School of Medicine is a licensed provider for continuing education for nursing home administrators (license #139-000027), social workers (license #159-000106), clinical psychologists (license # 268-000008) and professional counselors/clinical counselors (license number 197-000073). This program offers a maximum of 7.25 CE hours.
All other attendees will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
