VOCA: Victims of Crime Act 2024-2025 Competitive Grant

The VOCA Victim Assistance Formula Grant is awarded annually to OCVS from the US DOJ Office for Victims of Crime. The purpose of this funding announcement is to support programming in non-profit and public agencies that provide direct services to victims of crime. Eligible services include crisis intervention, hotline counseling, individual and/or group therapy, legal advocacy, medical and/or personal advocacy, and emergency legal services essential to meeting immediate threats to health or safety (in conjunction with other services).

Statewide Crisis Intervention Program (SCIP) Research

These grants aim to enhance our understanding of the complex factors contributing to gun violence both nationally and within Wisconsin. By funding rigorous research projects, we seek to uncover the root causes of gun violence, evaluate the effectiveness of existing prevention strategies, and identify innovative solutions to reduce future incidents. We encourage applications from a diverse range of researchers and institutions committed to making a tangible impact on public safety through evidence-based policy and practice.

JJ Formula: Juvenile Deflection and Diversion Implementation Program

This funding is available to Manitowoc County Department of Human Services and Phillips School District or their designated partners to implement the comprehensive juvenile deflection and diversion program designed under the Juvenile Deflection and Diversion Program Grant (2023). The program implemented must aim to increase the community’s ability to effectively deflect youth away from arrest and justice system involvement. Programs should provide treatment and services that address youth’s risk factors and needs.

Reporting Fraud, Waste and Abuse

Grant recipients should report any allegations of fraud, waste, and abuse of grant funds to the appropriate DOJ grant-making component.
